Job Description

Our client is a leading injection-moulding / vacuum forming company manufacturing a broad range of plastic boxes and containers, attached lid containers, stack nest containers, tote boxes, component boxes, plastic pallets and plastic pallet containers. They sell to a broad range of industries worldwide including Automotive, Pharmaceutical, Food Textiles, Distribution / Logistics and Retail distribution.  Due to ambitious expansion plans they are looking to recruit an additional two account managers to focus on developing new business within the UK.  The two roles will cover the UK with one focused on the North and the other covering the South.

Your job

Reporting to the head of sales this is a home based role which will focus heavily on new business development within the retail distribution / logistics sectors.

  • Working closely with the Head of Sales, internal sales team and sales support, the role will focus on the retail distribution / logistics sector.

  • Develop and maintain an ongoing pipeline of potential business through telephone and face to face sales activity.

  • Occasional visits to head office in the East Midlands.

  • Carry out market research to identify potential leads.

  • In charge of your own diary you will be responsible for arranging your own sales calls.

  • Cold calling businesses to qualify leads and arrange appointments.

  • Presentations to senior management and directors within target companies to win business.

  • Joint visits and presentations with the Head of Sales.

  • Account manage and develop new accounts on an ongoing basis to grow business within new clients.

  • Maintain your own product knowledge of the company’s standard product range and bespoke services.

  • Develop and maintain a clear understanding of the industry sector and potential business within the sector.

  • Maintain sales records and update the CRM system on a daily basis.

  • Report sales and activity figures to the Head of Sales.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of selling a product within a business to business market.  Experience of plastic boxes and containers or selling to retail distribution / logistics would be an advantage but is not essential.
