Job Description

Our client who is based in Leicestershire is seeking an experienced Field Sales professional who is educated to degree level or equivalent in a Life Science subject or equivalent and has a proven track record of selling molecular biology reagents. The role with cover the South of England and ideally the successful candidate will live in the London/Cambridge area.

 

Key Tasks

To achieve sales revenue target for assigned key/development accounts. Implementation of business development plans through direct sales visits to prospective customers, and identifying new business areas.

 

  • Develop and implement sales plans for key accounts.

  • Ensure achievement of sales targets by:

  • Identifying opportunities and threats and implement actions required.

  • Developing close relationships with key buyers and users

  • Ensure the participation in all major tenders and together with Line Manager negotiate appropriate preferential agreements with national and regional purchasing consortia.

  • Maximise customer awareness of marketing initiatives and promotions to support direct sales activity. Includes, email newsletters and advertising campaigns.

  • Develop pricing strategy together with Line Manager.

  • Must be an expert in presenting molecular biology products and services to customers at senior levels.

  • Operate with minimal supervision.

  • Operate at a senior level in major accounts and manage complex accounts and solve problems.

  • Support Line Manager in training and development of sales staff – product based and through joint customer calls.

  • Develops advanced sales quotations/proposals with respect to GP.

  • Achieve significant success in converting accounts to e-commerce especially e-procurement.

 

 

The successful candidate must have experience in a similar role, be educated to degree level or equivalent in a Life Science subject and completed modules/courses in molecular biology/genetics.       Lab experience is essential too – molecular biology, PCR, real-time PCR techniques.

 

Our client offers a basic salary of £25-30k, plus OTE of an additional £8k (capped at £12K), company car, laptop and mobile phone as well as pension and healthcare.
